“Most of you have now lived long enough to know that life is layered – day upon day, season upon season, year upon year, even age upon age. The things that you see and do mean one thing when you are young, another in adolescence, young adulthood, and middle age, and yet another when you are old. And yet, in the same way that you accumulate wisdom and understanding over the course of a single lifetime, you accumulate instincts, intuitions, and intimations from one lifetime to the next. Your lives are layered many fathoms deep.
“It was once the duty of parents and grandparents to initiate you into the long story of your soul. This was accomplished in a variety of ways, sometimes through story, sometimes through dance, ritual or song, and sometimes merely by wandering about the surface of the land, reclaiming lifetimes and memories along the way, just as today you might take a drive through a region you’ve visited long ago, recalling the landmarks and sights and experiencing echoes and memories of the time that came before.
“The parents and grandparents of the present age instruct you only for the present and the future, having forgotten the vast reservoir of knowledge that lies behind them and below them. This means they no longer function as parents or grandparents, but rather as brothers and sisters, equally young, naïve, and innocent of time.
“I hold within Me all that you were and all that you shall be. You have only to turn to Me in love, in prayer, and in devotion to reclaim the wisdom that you have lost.
“I am training a new generation of parents and grandparents to be equal to the times ahead.”
