“Most of the things that you see as dark or frightening are only parts of life that you have denied, forgotten, or tried not to see. Your daydreams and nightmares are haunted by fears that you yourself have created in the act of remaking the world in your own image. You are only one small piece of the puzzle, but you have made that piece the whole. Is it any wonder that, when you look at the world, you see danger everywhere?
“If you saw where you belong and how you belong to the world, you could be at peace within it. But you rarely see your place in the scheme of things. It takes thinking and seeing in a very different way to reclaim a sense of the order that you have lost.
“But this is not specialized knowledge. It is wise to have such knowledge, but it is not only for the wise. The knowledge of the whole is the only education truly worth having, but it is not for the educated alone. This knowledge is neither handed down nor taught to you by your elders, but comes to you naturally by virtue of being alive.
“If you look at the world today, it seems to be filled with violence and suffering, misfortune, mishaps, and mistakes. But make no mistake. What you are witnessing is only the unraveling of a design that does not work. You cannot see at present how that design is being remade. You cannot see amidst the disorder the re-ordering of your world.
“But you can participate in that reordering by praying the rosary and taking its lessons to heart. And the first of those lessons is to have no fear, but to remain open to whatever comes next.”
