All day long My winds blow. They bring change, opportunity, new vistas, and new life. But people stick themselves to the world like pins and refuse to budge. It’s as if you were to take a piece of paper on which you have written all your prayers and, instead of entrusting it to the wind, stick in on a bulletin board and check it every day. The world doesn’t work like that. I don’t work like that. And you don’t work like that either.
In prayer you have nothing to do. You don’t have to keep track of anything, and you don’t need to make anything happen. Even in the midst of struggle, anything can be easy if you entrust it to Me.
It’s like a child’s hand holding a kite. When she pulls the string, the kite dances. When she releases it, the kite begins to fall. She believes that holding on is what keeps a kite in the sky. But the wind does all the work.
A kite goes where the wind takes it, and where the wind takes it is where it needs to go. Everything is wind, so learn to trust it. There is nothing else to know.
