“To be still is to be ready, but almost no one knows how to be still anymore. Stillness cannot be attained through effort or discipline. True stillness is like the apple hanging from a branch, half hidden by leaves, that is ready at any moment to fall.
“The prayer I have given you to recite during the rosary is both a description of inner silence and a guide to how to obtain it. The Hail Mary is an apple, quiet and ready to fall. There is a tremendous untold power in that readiness, and a wisdom in the willingness to return to your Mother.
“The rosary is a rehearsal of that power, an embodiment of that wisdom—a preparation for the moment when I say, ‘Now!’”
