Human desire is more durable than human knowledge. The heart will continue on its journey, even when no trace of human history remains. You don’t so much have a heart’s desire as you are that desire. Desire makes bodies, one after another, on a journey so long it is impossible to say where you are on it at any given moment in time.
You must know that the thread of your desire is unbreakable. It cannot be severed or worn down. It is not like a cord made of silk or cotton that frays and finally snaps. Even death cannot cut it. It is the one eternal thing.
When you pray the rosary, you are holding that unbreakable thread. Just as the rosary goes in a circle, there is no end to time. Your destiny is not to know the depths of time or fathom its mysteries, but simply to hold on and follow it where it goes.
As long as you do this, nothing—not even illness, old age, or death—will impede your passage. The heart is your guide rope to eternity, your passport to joy and endless life.
