Can you lay everything down and walk forward carrying nothing? If so, you are ready for the path ahead.
Is there anything that I cannot carry for you, anything that you need? Is there any burden that is too great for Me to carry?
Does the boatman worry that the river will grow tired, that the water will not buoy up the barge? Do the birds concern themselves with the wind and air, even though these are invisible and cannot be seen? Does the seed worry that the Earth will not welcome it? Does the apple forget how to fall?
If what you require for life and love, meaning and purpose lies everywhere about you, then you don’t need to concern yourself with what lies ahead. Trust is everything. Without it you will feel lost and deprived everywhere you go. But if you have this, and this only — if what you carry is faith — then in truth you don’t need to carry anything else. Everything knows this. Humans alone have forgotten it. But to remember it is the easiest thing of all.
