When does spring arrive? In the winds that come before the equinox, or in the breezes that come after it? Is it in the green that pokes up through the leaf litter, or in the blossoms that follow the snow?
You look about you for signs of the changing season, but the truth of spring is known only as it arises within you. ‘As above, so below,’ say the sages. ‘As within, so without’ is a deeper, older truth.
If you embrace springtime in your soul, flowers will lie all about you. Between that world and this world, I have have set no distance at all. Now is the time of renewal for the earth and for the soul. Nothing can stop it. The world is always ending, only to begin again.
