You live in a world of ruins, although you cannot see it. It is masked by the things you have made. Cathedrals have replaced forests. Skyscrapers have become your mountains. Canals are your rivers. Your cities are the sea. You live in a world of ruins that you call progress, achievement, mastery, and the fulfillment of your dreams, but you cannot see them for what they are.
You speak of the ‘walking dead,’ but you are the walking dead. You live in a world that is already over. The fact that you can say amongst yourselves “Now is the time of the end!” or “Trouble is surely coming!” only shows how far beyond the tipping point you have already come. The fall is over. It happened before you were born.
There is no sense in waiting for an end that has already come. You have only to awaken to it to know that you have survived it. Now you must learn, starting from the beginning, how to live your lives.
