“When you pray for your heart’s desire, you are like the tree praying for the apple, the leaves praying for the fruit of the vine. You must not think that your heart’s desire lies anywhere but within you. You must not seek it in the world, but draw it forth from the world through the garden of your own heart.
“You have been given everything you need to tend that garden and make it fruitful. And whatever your scriptures may say to the contrary, you have never been in exile from it. The only exile is to wander from the path of your innermost heart’s desire, believing that you can find its fulfillment in the world.
“The world is designed to reveal its riches and provide its bounty at the utterance of a single word of prayer. But the treasury of the world opens within the heart. Your joy and hope will always arise from there.”
