“As a mother lays her hand upon an infant’s belly to let it feel the warmth of her presence—if you let Me, I too will soothe and comfort you.
“But do not expect to receive that comfort through your eyes. It will not come to you through what you see. Do not expect to be soothed by what you hear. It will not come to you through your ears. The world is filled with images of your own creation, and these will not comfort you. The world is filled with the noise of human commerce, conflict, and ambition. Those sounds will never steady you or make you calm.
“Touch is the first language, and touch the first sense. Let yourself become still and stay young in my presence, and you will feel the warmth and comfort and steadiness of My hand upon you. I will place it over your center—and if you let Me, I will make you calm within.
“Out of that calmness will grow eyes to see the world as it truly is and not as you have made it. Out of that calm will grow ears to hear in all things the sound of My heartbeat and My voice.”
