“If you read what the gospels say about this night, you will notice that the story begins with a lineage—a long list of men and a few women who were Jesus’s ancestors, with Me at the very end. But all of the souls in that long, long story cannot arrest the slide of humankind into oblivion.
“These are men who are no longer looking at the Earth. Their lineage is a history of looking at the sky. It is absolutely essential that you understand the history of these sky gazers. The divorce from nature does not happen overnight. It takes millennia. Culture is not the work of a single generation. It’s a mass effort.
“They are in free fall, these generations of men, and someone has to put an end to it. So I bring it to a halt. There has to be an anchor—a vulva, a womb, dirt, blood—to bring it to a stop. Otherwise, you will cease to exist. This line of men is a history of unreality. You have to incarnate to be born, bloodied and real.
“The Woman has been in exile. The Mother has been in exile. The Earth itself has been suppressed.
“You need a woman or this is a dream you cannot wake up from. A woman must stop this insanity. A girl has to stop it.
“I am the belayer, the rosary is the rope. Paintings of Me sometimes show a rope being lowered from heaven to rescue drowning sailors. I am lowering a rope to save you, to pull you up and out of history so that you can emerge safely from the other side.
“Do you not remember the words I spoke to you at the very beginning: ‘Did you suppose there would be no hand to take yours when you reached into the dark? Did you believe you were an only? Did you feel alone?’
“I will help you to survive this fall.
“This night before Christmas, this night before the new year begins, you must begin the process of divesting yourself of all the old forms of identity and belonging that you have carried, many of which have served you up until now. You will not be able to carry them forward into the world that lies ahead.
“This night I give birth to a babe who, in truth, is nothing other than the world. That which you call Christ is the light at the heart of All Life, and that light must not be allowed to go out. I Myself will ensure that it survives, and I will do anything (as mothers will) to protect what I have caused to be born into this world.
“I invite you to join Me in the work of mothering tonight—all males and females, the old and the young, the living as well as the dead—we are all one Mother of the world.”
